Portrait

I've started to follow a book course on portraits and this is my first attempt at a face.

Beach at sunset

The beginning of a new term for our art class. On Tralee beach at Benderloch.

This is my acrylic painting loosely based on the scene.

The art class. Looking east to Ben Lora (Benderloch hidden by the trees).

The art class looking west over the bay.

After the sun went down I used flash to illuminate my work.

Collage

Today's piece is a collage. Its called "Paper pseudo-woodland" 'cos I couldn't think of anything more descriptive for a newspaper and magazine-page collage. The aim was to do a "normal" woodland scene but I included some partially hidden images so that there's a red train in there, which could be crossing a wooded gorge, and a few travel adverts.

Lomond Falls (second version)

I've done a little more work at the base of this (see below) Removed a large dark rock which grabbed the eye and introduced some reflections into the pool. Acrylic 12"x16".

Acrylic still life. This was done under fluorescent lights which is not ideal.

"From the Window" I used oil pastels and a blue gouache wash overlay.
