As artists we are always developing. I started this site some years ago to monitor my progress at art classes. Some areas have improved faster than others and I expect this to continue to be an interesting journey. Constructive comments are always welcome. Steve.

Pencil sketch June 06
A hot afternoon at Claydon Hall, a National Trust property near Oxford. I liked the balance of the tree and the church against the squared off front of the hall.
I love your wonderful arty-crafty websites. I am from the UK and I also have a winter sunset as my last post. That’s a bit of serendipity at work.
I admire your pencil sketches. I like sketching but I am not naturally gifted in this way. It takes a lot of brainpower to translate 3-D perspectives onto paper and to analyse each brick and every layer of bricks that make up a building or a pavement. I also find that lighting and shading poses a problem for me.
