As artists we are always developing. I started this site some years ago to monitor my progress at art classes. Some areas have improved faster than others and I expect this to continue to be an interesting journey. Constructive comments are always welcome. Steve.

i was quite pleased with this one. The view is from the marina at Dunstaffnage, north of Oban, looking towards Ben Cruachan. It was an evening in May 2004 and the class had gathered at Dunstaffnage Castle, but the midges were ferocious and we retreated to the shoreline. By setting our easels up on the jetty we found some relief from the constant biting of the midges. So no castle views were painted but various scenes across the marina. I chose to ignore the boats as once again the sky attracted me. My colour-blindness has probably made things a bit unreal - but, who cares, I like it!

I also like this one very much indeed, a wonderful use of colour, very atmospheric...
